The Halsey Family

Today, we had our 6 month check up!  Andrew is 17 pounds, 7 ounces (54%) and 27 inches long (66%).  SLASH… I am having a hard time read the dang chart, so this is what I THINK are the percentiles.  We are much more middle of the pack now. Phew! We got to see Jen today, the DOCTOR version of Jen, Andrew was very excited!  He, yet again, was a CHAMPION with his shots.  Dooda only cried for 2 seconds, but the time I picked him up, he snuggled in to me, wiped his eyes and was back to himself.  How did we get so lucky with this kid??  Well, minus the sleep issues ;) We have the go ahead to start baby food…. Time flies!  Josh, AKA Dad of the Year, put together the highchair today after work.  We will be starting this new adventure tomorrow.  Here's to the next chapter of eating!

Great Aunt Mindy came down for another visit this weekend!! She got in right before bedtime on Friday, then left on Sunday afternoon.  It was so fun to have Aunt Mindy down.  We hit the mall on Saturday & did some early Christmas shopping for Andrew, had dinner both nights & just relaxed!!  We are looking forward to Aunt Mindy's next visit.  Were we rooting for the Chiefs or the Chargers?!?!?   Until next time, Great Aunt Mindy! xoxoxo

Hello, I love my $5 toy from the baby target section… He is really his Dad's son.  He has so many "fancy" toys, but thus far, ALLLLLLL of Andrew Dooda's favorite toys are the cheapies from Target!  He is really after his dad's heart.    Nothing like a mustache, a dad & son, family over for Sunday dinner & a BBQ session!  

I am sorry, but Andrew is the cutest thing I have ever seen… yes, I am officially the mom.  We got all dressed up today to go to Whole Foods & Trader Joes.  So fancy!  Being off work this week is the best thing that has ever happened to us… I am thankful for today! I mean… that face, how could you not be SOOOOO THANKFUL! 

I mean… these two are the best of friends!  Andrew Dooda smiles at Sloan when she gets close.    Sloan is SO chill with him… she just kinda lets him do whatever, then when she is over it, she moves away. Andrew is mostly pretty disappointed when this happens.   I love Sloan's tail! Sloan may be just a tad disinterested in what is going on… 

Andrew is really starting to STARE at all foods and drinks.  I think this is a clear sign he is ready for food!  This past Sunday he showed extra interest in my Browns cup that Josh was holding…. Andrew played with it for quite some time. Go Norv!!! 

This sweet outfit…. All the credit must go to Mimi & Papa.  Like why is he wearing this !??!!  LOL!!  Luckily, Andrew doesn't care :)  

I ordered Andrew a few Thanksgiving books for us to read…. Starting traditions over here!!  So far our favorite is 5 Silly Turkeys - minus there is part where the turkeys get chased by a bee- EWWWW! HATE BEES!  Andrew loves listening to us read & especially chewing on the books. I pretend he is turning the pages, it's cool!  Sloan is always right by Andrew!!  They share the blanket!  I love it!  These books are so rad, mom!   I can't wait to read The Night Before Thanksgiving with him!!  Hopefully he will be into reading with me for years to come :)  Are you wondering why I in this sweet outfit… read my next post!!
